Fallout new vegas help power armor training!!!!!?

ok i want to get power armor training i already comp[lteted still in the dark and i chose harid to be elder and it says in fallout wiki to wait 3 days so i wait 3 days but when i go inside the same elder mcnarra is still there and when i talk to harid it says thank for the appreciancion this willl help me overthrow the elder can you tell me what happened i really want power armor training
