Do i have to read the uglies series(by scott westerfeld) in order?

i bought and read the first two(uglies and pretties) today, and i want to read specials, but my sister hid it from me. i found the fourth[(extras)(she hid it too)]. because extras is after tally, is it ok to read it before specials?
